Second Lisbon Airport Could Open in 2022

Lisbon airport officials have said that the capital’s second airport on the south bank of the Tagus River could receive flights in four years.
It is thought that the airport could be operating by 2022 should all decisions, such as an environmental impact study, be concluded within a reasonable time frame. Officials added that the planned airport at Montijo, which is currently an air force base, could handle up to 24 take-offs and landings an hour.
