Portugal Extends Residence Permits Expiry Dates

New resolutions were approved by the Council of Ministers last week declaring the state of emergency in Portugal due to Covid-19 pandemic.
These resolutions change many rules and measures related to different areas:
1. A law approved amendments of exceptional and temporary measures relating to the Covid-19 disease pandemic, namely: The extension of expired documents (citizen's card, certificates and certificates issued by the registration and civil identification services, driving license, documents and visas related to the stay in the national territory, as well as licenses and authorizations ) until March 31, 2021. Limitation of gatherings to five people on the public road and in other spaces of a commercial and catering nature, except if they have a joint household;
2. A law proposal was approved, to be submitted to the Assembly of the Republic, which establishes the mandatory use of a community mask in public roads, whenever it is not possible to maintain the necessary social distancing, as well as the use of the Stayaway Covid application, in the employment, academic, armed and security forces and public administration in general.
